Snow Days

We can't decide on what to do about driving to Utah for Christmas, half of me just wants to get out of this place!
This is Warren on his old trike

Church was canceled, school has been canceled for the past 4 days and so many things are closed. Saturday it was mine and Spencer's 7 year Anniversary and we celebrated by candle light at out kitchen table with the kids watching the snow. Nothing says Happy Anniversary like chicken and biscuit on a Saturday night.

girls, girls, girls

On Friday we had 3 little girls over to play while their Mom's went to run errands. It was so different than having boys over! They decorated a gingerbread house in hearts and ponies, they pretended like they were kittens (quietly I might add), and they had a tea party in 4 different rooms of my house. I think I am going to like this girl thing.

Camus Tree Lighting

Friday the 5th the boys got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's house for a sleep-over. They made gingerbread houses and got to go to downtown Camus for the tree lighting and arrival of Santa. We only saw Santa briefly while he was riding by in a fire truck. It was so cold too! But the boys had fun.

New Tradition

Can it be considered a "tradition" we do it 2 years in a row? Last year Lilly and Karina came over to our house to make gingerbread cookies, so this year we went to their house to bake. It was a blast, we made sugar and gingerbread cookies, the kids ran off to play while Amy and I discussed very important current events, recent TIME magazine articles and what to give our husbands for Christmas. I am considering it a tradition, because I think we will be doing it again next year.

You gotta love the Pacific Northwest

This year I just went to a Christmas tree lot, how wonderful! It was only 29 bucks, they loaded it up for me and I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. Oh how I love this state!
I finally put up all the Christmas decor I am going to put up this year. I used only silver and left the rest in my garage. Becky Jackson was getting rid of all her silver stuff and she gave it to me, and I love it. Thanks Becky
This is Warren after school in his usual cool man pose, I am just proud of myself for decorating our front door. I love poinsettias.

This is a nativity scene from Mexico (my birth place) that I got when I was in college. My Mom had one just like it when I was growing up, so it is nice to have my own.

This is my nativity scene that I got myself for my 30th birthday, it is simple, but I like it because it has scripture on it. We had Warren memorize Luke 2:11, which is on the stable.

Some of my favorite ornaments that I got this season. You also gotta love Target

Hansen Family Christmas photo 2008

We haven’t done a family photo in years and now I remember why. On Friday we all went to Columbia tech center to take our first family photo with Auri here are just a few things that happened,
- Warren threw a fit about not being able to wear his Mario Wii shirt
-We couldn’t find white socks for Auri and she kept taking off the ones she did have on
-Warren and Max were fighting in the car on the way there, both had tears in there eyes when we arrived
- It was after 3 in the afternoon (dark lighting, I knew the flash would come on and make us all pasty white)
- It was drizzling all day, everything was wet. By the end of the photo shoot my hair is a frizz ball.
- Warren fell in the pond, surprising, I thought Max would.
- We couldn’t get all the kids to look at Becky at the same time. Auri was more interested in the passing cars. She doesn’t get out much.
All in all this was the best photo. Thanks Becky Louder for taking them and making us look semi happy and cute.

My little doll

This was taken Sunday afternoon. I think she looks like a little doll sitting on her dresser next to her bear. I set her up there so I could change her sheets, she really liked it.

Birthday #32, but who's counting

On Tuesday my friends took me to Buffalo Wild Wings. It was so much fun. There was pop music playing a sports theme in the restaurant and 14 different sauces to go on wings. And Amy cooper made the most amazing chocolate cake I have ever had in my life and she brought along a cooler with vanilla ice cream in it. What a blast.

Even though my 32nd birthday was no milestone, it was still one of my favorite birthdays and one of my most celebrated. On Monday my parents and I went out to lunch with our long time family friends the Kilgores. It was good to catch up and the food at On the Boarder was also pretty good, not as good as the company however.
On Monday night my sister Holly and her husband and kids came up and we all went out to dinner. It was fun to watch Papa open his presents that the kids had picked out for him. My parents got me a mat cutter, so now I can start framing a lot more of Warren's art work and the kids photos. Holly got me a much needed top and a beautiful ornament.

On Tuesday night the kids gave me there gifts. Spencer took them shopping to pick out 5 things they wanted to get for me, I love what they came up with. I got lots of cotton candy and gumballs, a pumpkin, a feather duster, pencils and erasers and a few ornaments. And Spencer got me a new anniversary band with diamonds and sapphires. What a great birthday.

We were laughing so hard when this photo was taken because you can see the determination of Auri to get some cotton candy.

I love how Warren is looking at me in this photo.
He is so eager to see if I like my pencils that he picked out for me.

Halloween

End of the night checking out all the candy!

Trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.

Me and Auri with our good friends Sara and Molly.

Our family at the Ward Halloween Party. Warren went as Robbin, not from Batman and Robbin, but Robbin from Teen Titans. By the way, I hate my hair, any suggestions you have for me would be great.

Is it just me, or does she look really good in black.

Halloween morning we made pancakes and then cupcakes for the ward Halloween party. How cute is Max, so sweet. One pancake is a bat and the other is a witch.

Auriel's Halloween Costume

I debated on weather or not to dress her up this year, but then I saw this costume online at Childrens Place and had to have it. Karen Dewy picked it up for me at the store. Auri loves wearing it, I can’t wait to take her to the Ward Halloween party to show her off! Have I mentioned that I love having a GIRL?!

Burnning Bush

This is probably boring for all of you, but I love this tree in the fall! It is in my backyard and it is what I see from all the bedrooms upstairs and what I see from my kitchen window. Color like this only comes once a year.
