Christmas Morning Play Time

We had another great Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve at my parents eating pizza and listening to the Christmas story and trying on our Johns Hopkins Lacrosse shirts. Christmas morning we had the kids take turns opening gifts and it worked out well, I think they liked seeing what each other got. Gifts from Grandma.

It took me almost 5 hours to clean my house properly and put everything away, not including my Christmas decorations.

I bought meringue powder to make this frosting, it was fun to decorate with.

I made an angel food cake to serve something lighter, I made it from scratch, it was really good and really worth it, better than a box recipe.

Grandpa gave the kids cash, what a fun surprise!

Some Christmas Decorations

Holly has asked me a few times what my tree looks like this year, well, here it is in all it's glory. We also got one for the kids.

You know what I didn't like about Skamania?

Not a thing!!! We loved Skamania Lodge! Although you can't tell by this picture, Max looks like he was punched in he eye, Auri looks kind of homeless and Warren looks super happy for a photo-opp, still we loved the lodge.

I loved how my kids would say, "Mom, are we going to the lodge this weekend?", like we are the kind of folks that "go to a lodge on weekends" and the kind of folks that don't use the word folks.

I loved how they offered you an umbrella when you left, I loved how there were 3 pools, I loved the gingerbread houses, I loved the Christmas decorations, I loved the food, I loved it all and I loved that it only took about 35 minutes to get there.

The outdoor pool early in the morning, I think I got the moon in the background, that's how early we get up people! That is why I make my kids go to bed at 7:30 sharp, because we get up when the moon is still out!

The gingerbread houses, they had a candy buffet, my kiddos were in Heaven!
